Welcome to the Farm Stand Project!
A place where anyonecan buy wholesome and affordable locally grown producein Allegheny County!
The Farm Stand project began in 1993 with a mission to make fresh produce more readily available in low-income neighborhoods traditionally underserved by full-service grocery stores.
Today, there are 13 weekly Farm Stands around Allegheny county that feature fresh, quality produce at a low price. All stands accept cash, EBT, WIC & Senior FMNP.
Unlike Farmers’ Markets where the farmer comes to the market to sell, we go to the farmers and purchase produce and then deliver it to the Farm Stands. The Food Bank complements the produce for sale with nutrition education to encourage healthy eating, including monthly cooking demonstrations and samplings with recipes using local produce.
